I'm headed up to St. Scholastica this afternoon to spend the weekend participating in a prayer retreat. Every Step a Prayer is led by Macrina Wiederkehr, and will focus on different forms of praying including the labyrinth, walking meditation and sacred journaling. One of my dear friends, who leads silent retreats & is a fellow lover of prayer, will be accompanying me, so I am very excited about the three days. P.S. if you click on the link for the labyrinth, please know that is just my sense of humor, and I in no way expect to encounter David Bowie, goblins or the pit of eternal stench during my weekend. I do, however, believe that when we abide in Christ, when we rest in the spirit, that we are emboldened to declare to the evil that is present in our world "You have no power over me!"
